Charming Lotus — Qu Jinzhong Oil Painting Exhibition Nanman Art presents you a solo art exhibition titled “Charming Lotus — Qu Jinzhong Oil Painting Exhibition”
Born in Yunnan, Qu Jinzhong graduated from Yunnan Academy of Fine Arts in 1986. He was included in “World Artists” series and his painting “Fishing Girl” was selected for publication in the “World Arts” (Chinese chapter) in 1998. Professor Qu’s artworks are widely collected by institutes and art lovers.
Artist Qu Jinzhong recently shifted to Ang Mo Kio New Town. Opposite his house is a lotus pond, located in a quiet corner of the Bishan Ang Mo Kio Park. Obsessed by the vigour and vitality in the pond, the artist stayed beside the pond every morning, painting the lotus pond.
Jinzhong has been in search of his painting resources ceaselessly for decades. Lotus has now been one of his new subjects. He said:” Lotus, a kind of supremacy; a spirit contains powerful and endless life. “
In exploration of the indomitable spirit, Jinzhong finds a road which is in traditional inheritance as well as innovation of art. Using the techniques of impressionist and figurative art, he expresses vividly the subjects in his oil paintings. Through flexible skills of creation, colour and brushwork techniques, Jinzhong presents to us the wonderful scenery of Singapore.
