Khoo Cheang Jin 邱昌仁

Born in 1963 and graduate of the School of Architecture in UNSW, Australia, streetscape with old buildings and unique Architecture has always been Khoo’s favorite subjects for painting. He pays great attention to light and shadow, detail of buildings, atmospheric perspective and contextual activities in his watercolour paintings.

Chairman of Penang Watercolour Society and Penang Art Society, he has been actively participating in exhibitions in Malaysia and abroad. Numerous awards has been won by him including Young Artist Award in the Penang Museum Annual Art Exhibition (1980), one of the 12 winners in the Malaysia Landscape Watercolour Painting competition organised by Dunlop Malaysia Berhad & National Art Gallery, KL (1882), youth Art Excellence Award in the Singapore National Day Youth Art Exhibition (1994), Highly Commended Award in the UOB Group’s 13th Painting of the Year competition, Singapore (1994) and Silver Award in S P Setia Art Fair, Penang (2001). In 1995 he was selected wuth 22 others by the President of the Republic of Singapore to participate in “President Charity Art Exhibition – The President’s Watercolour Selections 1995”. His works are in the collections of corporate bodies, private galleries and many private individuals.
