Chen Xiongxun 陈雄勋

Born in 1943 in Yunnan, Chen graduated from Yunnan Academy of Fine Arts in 1966 when the Cultural Revolution broke. In 1982 he admitted to the Central Academy of Fine Arts mural training for 2 years.

His artwork “Revealing the Mystery of Speed and Endurance” participated in Popularization of Science Art Exhibition in 1979 and awarded 2nd prize. In 1994 he was engaged by a number of hotels in Shenzhen to paint on specific locations i the hotels. In 1995 he created a large mural “Farming Culture in Yunnan” (9.6 x 3 meters) for Yunnan Nationalities Museum. In 1997 he created a mural “Peace Map” for Yunnan Development Planning Commission in Beijing. In 2001 his painting “Village Official Election” took part in national art exhibition in conjunction with the 80th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party and got merit award. In 2004 he created mural painting “Zhenghe’s voyages to West Ocean” together with 4 other large oil paintings (1.8 x 3 meters) with the theme on great walls, in Beijing and the art pieces were collected by Beijing Zhigao Arty Museum. In 2007 he created 10 pieces of painting Kunming Shen An Temple based on the stories of Yang Sheng An and Xu Xia Ke.

His art works are widely collected by museums and art lovers.
